Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, has convened the directors of Himbara (the Association of State-Owned Banks), alongside the Chairman of the State-Owned Enterprises Agency, the Chief Operating Officer of Daya Anagata Nusantara (BPI Danantara) Dony Oskaria, and the State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi. The meeting addressed the current volatility in the stock market, specifically the decline in the share prices of state-owned banks.

“We are coordinating this morning, primarily to discuss the market, especially regarding state-owned enterprise (BUMN) stocks,” he stated before commencing a closed-door meeting at the DPR RI Nusantara III building in Jakarta on Tuesday (9/6/2026).

According to Dasco, the fundamentals and performance of state-owned banks remain strong. However, due to turbulence in the global market, Himbara bank stocks have also experienced a downturn.

“In reality, they are performing well, but the global market situation has had an impact,” he added.

During this meeting, Dasco will discuss exploring opportunities for share buybacks. “It is time for discussion, and we will look for the appropriate opportunity to conduct share buybacks in the market,” he concluded.

The meeting was attended by several key figures, including the President Director of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBRI) Hery Gunardi, the President Director of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBNI) Putrama Wahju Setyawan, the President Director of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. (BMRI) Riduan, the President Director of Taspen Rony Hanityo Aprianto, and the President Director of INA Oki Ramadhana.
