Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives’ Post-Disaster Recovery Task Force, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, stated that the Master Plan for Rehabilitation and Reconstruction has been approved by the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas). In addition to the master plan, the government has also approved the budget allocation for post-disaster reconstruction in Sumatra. ‘A coordination meeting was held earlier between the DPR’s Disaster Task Force and the government’s Sumatra Disaster Recovery and Reconstruction Task Force. We discussed the Master Plan for Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, which has been approved by Bappenas,’ Dasco said at the Senayan Parliamentary Complex in Jakarta on Monday (25 May 2026). ‘Thankfully, the budget has been approved by the government, and we are coordinating to ensure that the technical work plans of relevant ministries and agencies proceed smoothly,’ he said. The DPR welcomes the central government’s financial commitment to expedite recovery efforts in affected areas. Dasco stressed that the DPR will continue to oversee the recovery project to ensure that the work plans of relevant ministries and agencies are implemented without hindrance. ‘Technically, the tasks to be carried out will be handled by the government’s Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Task Force, chaired by Tito Karnavian,’ Dasco said. Chairman of the Sumatra Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Acceleration Task Force, Tito Karnavian, detailed that the budget allocation will be spread over three fiscal years. For 2026, Rp38.9 trillion has been allocated, followed by Rp32.9 trillion in 2027 and Rp28.2 trillion in 2028. ‘The total budget we proposed has been approved by the government and, thankfully, has received support from the DPR Task Force led by Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, totalling Rp100.166 trillion over three years,’ Tito Karnavian said on Monday.
