Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, inspected the site of the accident where a long-distance train collided with a KRL Commuter Line train at Bekasi Timur Station in Bekasi City. Dasco expressed his concern over the incident.

“We are deeply saddened by this evening’s incident. Earlier, I witnessed the ongoing evacuation process together with the National Police Chief and the Director of PT KAI,” Dasco said at the location on Monday night (27/4/2026).

Dasco stated that the number of evacuated victims is approximately 29 people. He mentioned that the evacuation process is still ongoing.

“From the information I have, 29 people have already been evacuated, and given the ongoing evacuation process, there is a possibility that the number of victims will continue to increase,” he said.

The incident occurred on Monday night (27/4/2026). Several passengers sustained injuries due to the train accident.

Based on the information obtained, the Commuter Line was stopped on track 1 heading to Cikarang or eastbound. Shortly after, the long-distance train from the west entered the same track and immediately collided with the Commuter Line.

“The Commuter Line was destroyed at the rear section. We were all immediately evacuated by the officers,” said surviving passenger Heri at the location, as reported by Antara on Monday (27/4).
