Jakarta, VIVA – The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, has spoken out regarding the dismissal of three leaders of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). It is reported that President Prabowo has recently removed Dadan Hindayana from his position as Head of the BGN. Alongside Dadan, two Deputy Heads of the BGN, Lodewyk Pusung and Soni Sanjaya, have also been dismissed.

Sufmi Dasco believes that the reshuffle carried out by President Prabowo represents a serious effort to reform the institution, which serves as the spearhead for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme. He expressed hope that the government’s evaluation could strengthen institutional governance without disrupting services to the public.

“We hope that through this comprehensive evaluation, the BGN will reform itself and continue to serve the beneficiary communities. This change will certainly not affect the services that have been ongoing,” Dasco stated at the Senayan Parliament Complex on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.

Dasco noted that the DPR appreciates President Prabowo Subianto’s swift action in evaluating and replacing the Head of the BGN and the two deputy heads. He assessed that the decision demonstrates the government’s responsiveness to various inputs circulating within the community.

The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party stated that the evaluation serves as evidence that the government is paying attention to the aspirations of the public, programme beneficiaries, the results of inter-ministerial coordination, and feedback provided by the DPR.

Dasco also noted that internal improvements within the BGN are an urgent necessity to ensure that the national strategic programme for nutritional fulfilment can operate optimally. According to him, the change in leadership must not hinder ongoing public services.

He expressed hope that the new leadership of the BGN would immediately map out existing issues, particularly those related to the distribution and logistics of the national nutrition programme. The primary focus of the reform, he said, must be directed towards ensuring equitable access to nutritional services across all regions of Indonesia.

“Based on the explanation from the Minister of State Secretary, there are evaluations being conducted by the government. In this instance, it concerns governance and inter-ministerial cooperation, which were deemed insufficient, along with several other points that the government noted must be improved,” he said.

As a replacement for Dadan, the President has appointed Nanik S. Deyang as the new Head of the BGN. The deputy head positions will be filled by Agustina Arumsari and Major General (Rtd) Trenggono.
