Dasco Brings Together Sister Natalia and BNI CEO Regarding Church Fund Embezzlement Case
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Deputy Speaker of the House Sufmi Dasco Ahmad brought together the treasurer of the Credit Union (CU) at Aek Nabara Parish in North Sumatra, Sister Natalia Situmorang, and BNI President Director Putrama Wahju Setyawan regarding the case of embezzlement of congregational funds worth Rp 28 billion.
After the meeting, BNI and representatives from Aek Nabara Parish stated that the case has been settled, with the congregational funds to be returned in full.
“Thank you to all the media team. First, we express our gratitude to the President and all levels of government who have given significant attention to the Aek Nabara Parish congregation, providing attention so that this problem can be resolved well,” said Sister Natalia at the DPR Building, Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (21/4/2026).
Sister Natalia hopes that all processes up to the refund of the funds can proceed smoothly.
She also assured that there would soon be good news for the congregation.
“There is good news because the congregation will also rejoice in receiving their rights. Thank you,” said Sister Natalia with a wide smile.
The Credit Union Cooperative of Aek Nabara Parish Church then deposited the funds gradually until reaching Rp 28 billion and received 28 deposit certificates.
However, those deposits turned out to be fictitious.
The case came to light when the church treasurer, Sister Natalia Situmorang KYM, applied for withdrawal in December 2025, but the funds could not be withdrawn until February 2026.
After that, BNI reported the case to the North Sumatra Police on 26 February 2026. Andi fled to Australia before eventually returning and surrendering himself.
He has now been designated as a suspect in the banking fraud case.
