Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, brought together the CEO of Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI), Putrama Wahju Setyawan, with the Aek Nabara Parish Church. The meeting discussed the return of embezzled customer funds amounting to Rp 28 billion.

The meeting took place at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (21/4/2026). In addition to Dasco, Chairman of Commission VI of the House of Representatives, Andre Rosiade, also attended the meeting.

The treasurer of the Aek Nabara Parish Church Credit Union Cooperative, Natalia, expressed thanks to President Prabowo Subianto for his attention in resolving this case. This included gratitude to Dasco for facilitating the meeting between her side and BNI.

“Thank you to Mr President, and all levels of government that have given significant attention to the Aek Nabara Parish community, so that this problem can be resolved well. Thank you also to Mr Dasco for receiving us here this afternoon,” said Natalia after the meeting on Tuesday (21/4).

Natalia hopes the resolution process for this case will proceed smoothly. The congregation who are victims in this case are also joyful over the planned return of the funds.

“Well, we hope this entire process runs very well once again. May all of this become a source of blessing for us all,” she stated.

On the same occasion, BNI CEO Putrama assured that the return of funds would begin tomorrow. The funds are guaranteed to be returned in full.

“And the solution has been found for us to immediately settle together with the Aek Nabara Parish Credit Union side, so most appropriately tomorrow, 22 April 2026, we can carry out the return of the Aek Nabara Parish Credit Union funds,” said Putrama.

Putrama mentioned that this incident could serve as a lesson for everyone. This includes BNI’s internal ranks who must better know and understand their own employees.

“Then also from the banking side, of course, regarding understanding the implementation of know your employee,” he stated.

“So for the legal process, we leave it to the North Sumatra Police to follow up,” he added.

It is known that the former Head of Cash at BNI Aek Nabara Branch Office, Andi Hakim Febriansyah, embezzled funds from the Aek Nabara Catholic Parish Church congregation amounting to Rp 28 billion. Andi Hakim Febriansyah has been arrested and is being processed legally by the police. BNI has assured that it will return customer funds in accordance with the development of the investigation.

“The resolution will be carried out within this period, we are processing it and it is assured that this week, Monday to Friday, during working days, we will return it,” said BNI Director of Human Capital & Compliance, Munadi Herlambang, in a virtual press conference on Sunday (19/4).
