Dasco: Asset Forfeiture Bill Continues to Progress

Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR), Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, has stated that the deliberation of the Asset Forfeiture Bill is continuing to progress within the DPR. He noted that Commission III is currently in the process of soliciting input and public participation regarding the draft law. “The Asset Forfeiture Bill is currently being processed in the DPR, and of course the Indonesian House of Representatives, specifically the technical commission, Commission III, which is currently discussing it, is at this time requesting a great deal of public participation,” Dasco told reporters on Friday, 14 August 2026. Dasco explained that public enthusiasm for providing input on the draft regulation is very high. As a result, Commission III continues to open space to receive public participation even during the recess period. Dasco added that the DPR will request a report from Commission III regarding the progress of the Asset Forfeiture Bill deliberation. “During this recess period, we will request a report from Commission III on how far it has progressed, and then we will evaluate the discussion procedures and other technical matters concerning the Asset Forfeiture Law that is currently being processed,” Dasco concluded.
