Dasco and DPR officials receive Gebrak alliance on Labour Day 2026

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, along with DPR leadership and members, received an audience from the Gerakan Buruh Bersama Rakyat (Gebrak) labour alliance in the Abdul Muis Room at the DPR Building in Jakarta on Friday.

Gebrak held a protest rally in the area around the DPR Building in Jakarta on Friday, coinciding with the commemoration of International Labour Day or May Day 2026.

The Gebrak alliance present at the audience included the Congress of the Indonesian Trade Union Alliance (KASBI), the Indonesian Labour Struggle Federation (FPBI), the Agrarian Reform Consortium, and the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation (YLBHI).

“I extend a warm welcome to the DPR RI,” Dasco said as he opened the audience.

In addition to Dasco, several DPR members who received the alliance included Deputy Speaker Saan Mustopa, Chairman of Commission III Habiburokhman, Deputy Chairman of Commission IX Putih Sari, and Commission IX member Obon Tabroni.

Dasco also conveyed Labour Day greetings to the representatives of the labour alliance attending the DPR. At the start of the audience, he invited the alliance’s representatives to express their aspirations.

For the 2026 International Labour Day commemoration, the events were divided into two locations: one at Monas with a joint celebration involving President Prabowo Subianto, and another in front of the DPR Building.

Police stated they had deployed 6,678 combined personnel to secure the parliamentary complex area in relation to the action.
