Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and Daily Chairman of the Gerindra Party executive board, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, attended an iftar gathering hosted by the NasDem Party central executive board alongside a number of orphans on Thursday evening. Dasco said the event provided an opportunity to strengthen ties with several prominent figures, including Indonesia’s 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) and former Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.

“We are building relationships. I met many figures earlier — there was Pak JK, our senior statesman, there was Mas Anies, and several other figures,” Dasco said after the iftar at NasDem Tower in Gondangdia, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (19 February 2026).

He remarked that fasting is an obligation for Muslims and that maintaining bonds of friendship must always be upheld.

“Beyond the fact that fasting is indeed an obligation for Muslims, when you fast you must break the fast,” he said.

Earlier, at approximately 5.50pm, NasDem Chairman Surya Paloh was observed seated together with PKS President Almuzzammil Yusuf, NasDem Deputy Chairman Saan Mustopa, PAN Chairman Zulhas, and Jusuf Kalla at NasDem Tower in Central Jakarta.

Also present were PKB Deputy Chairman Jazilul Fawaid and Deputy Speaker of the House Sari Yuliati, a Golkar politician. At around 5.57pm, House Speaker and PDIP central executive board chairwoman Puan Maharani arrived at the venue.

Puan then took a seat alongside Surya Paloh and Jusuf Kalla. The group were seen chatting together.

Former Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan was spotted sitting next to Prananda Paloh. NasDem Secretary-General Hermawi Taslim was also visible in the same row.

Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) was also in attendance. The iftar commenced with the recitation of a prayer led by House Commission II Chairman Rifqinizamy Karsayuda.
