Daop Semarang prepares two additional Lebaran trains
Semarang, Central Java — PT KAI (Persero) Daop 4 Semarang, Central Java, is preparing two additional trains to serve passengers during the Lebaran transport period in 2026. Luqman Arif, Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 4 Semarang, said the two extra trains consist of one economy-class service on the Semarang–Jakarta route and a free motorcycle service on the Cepu–Jakarta route.
“During the Lebaran transport period this year, 34 regular trains and two additional trains will be operated,” he said.
He added that on average 19,207 seats on trains will be available daily to destinations across various regions.
KAI notes that 434 thousand train tickets for departures from and to various stations within Daop 4 Semarang have been sold for Lebaran 2026.
Luqman said the tickets sold are for departures from 13 to 30 March 2026.
He also explained that the number of tickets for passengers departing from various stations in Daop Semarang totals 213 thousand people.
Meanwhile, for passengers with destinations to various stations in Daop Semarang, about 220 thousand tickets have been sold.
“Ticket sales may still increase, especially for preferred dates approaching Lebaran,” he said.
He explained from preliminary data, the busiest departure date is 24 March 2026, estimated to reach 19 thousand people.
For arrivals, he continued, it is estimated to occur on 19 March 2026 with passenger numbers reaching 19,700 people.
