Daop 2 Bandung records 298,900 Lebaran homecoming tickets sold
Bandung, West Java (ANTARA) - PT KAI Daop 2 Bandung has recorded 298,929 tickets sold for Lebaran homecoming transport during the period of 11 March to 1 April 2026, or 86.4 percent of the provided capacity. Cumulative data up to Thursday shows high public enthusiasm, peaking on Wednesday (18 March 2026), which became the highest service volume peak in the Daop 2 Bandung region. “The eighth day of the 2026 Lebaran transport became the temporary peak of the homecoming flow in the Daop 2 Bandung region. We observed a significant increase in the number of customers both departing and arriving,” said KAI Daop 2 Bandung Public Relations Manager Kuswardojo in Bandung, West Java, on Thursday. During that peak moment, 20,614 passengers were dispatched from all stations in the Daop 2 region, while the number of arriving passengers reached 19,986 people. Kuswardojo explained that to counter the surge, KAI has prepared extra personnel both in station areas and on board the train sets. “This is to ensure that services remain optimal, even though passenger volume has increased sharply,” he said. Regarding operational aspects, Daop 2 Bandung conducts routine inspections of the reliability of facilities, rail tracks, and supporting infrastructure in a comprehensive and measurable manner. This step is taken to ensure zero accidents during the homecoming transport period. KAI management urges the public who have not yet obtained tickets to immediately make bookings through official channels, given that the remaining seats from the total quota of 345,840 are now increasingly limited. Passengers are also asked to arrive earlier at the station to avoid delays during the ticket checking process (boarding).
