Tanjung Selor, North Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Commander of Military Resort (Danrem) 092/Maharajalila (Mrl), Brigadier General TNI Mohammad Sjahroni, inaugurated the Garuda Pioneer Bridge in Sajau Hilir Village, Tanjung Palas Timur Subdistrict, Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan Province (Kaltara), on Monday.

“We have just inaugurated the Garuda Pioneer Bridge in Sajau Hilir Village. Alhamdulillah, the construction of this bridge has proceeded well,” he stated.

According to Brigadier General Mohammad Sjahroni, the construction of this bridge is not merely physical infrastructure development but also a symbol of service, togetherness, and the spirit of mutual cooperation in building border and remote areas to advance and prosper in the future.

“We hope that this Pioneer Bridge will provide significant benefits to the community, particularly in facilitating transportation access to support economic activities, easing the distribution of agricultural and plantation products, and enhancing connectivity between regions in Bulungan Regency,” he said.

The Garuda Pioneer Bridge in Sajau Hilir Village, built by the 0903/Bulungan Military District Command (Kodim), is, according to the Danrem, proof of the Indonesian Army’s commitment, particularly from Military Resort Command (Korem) 092/Mrl and Kodim 0903/Bulungan, in accelerating regional development.

“As a territorial unit, Korem 092 and Kodim 0903 are committed to being present and assisting local governments in supporting accelerated development and improving community welfare,” he said.

Furthermore, Mohammad Sjahroni emphasised that the construction of the Garuda Pioneer Bridge aligns with the Indonesian Army’s duties in assisting local governments and addressing the difficulties faced by the surrounding population.

With the bridge now inaugurated and operational, the Danrem expressed his highest appreciation and gratitude to all parties that have supported its realisation, including local government, TNI and Police apparatus, companies, community figures, and all residents of Sajau Hilir Village who have cooperated and provided full support.

“It is this spirit of togetherness that we must nurture as a strength in building an advanced, safe, and prosperous North Kalimantan,” he said.

The Danrem urged that the bridge be maintained jointly so that its benefits can be felt in the long term by future generations.

“Use this facility well, keep it clean, and make the bridge a means to strengthen unity and boost the community’s economy,” he advised.
