Dankos profits rise 4%

JAKARTA (JP): Publicly-listed pharmaceutical producer PT
Dankos Laboratories reported a 4 percent increase in net profits
to Rp 19 billion (US8.1 million) for last year, from Rp 18
billion in 1994.

Dankos President Apik Ibrahim said that the flat profit growth
was due mainly to a significant price increase in chemical
products as basic materials, while the increase in selling prices
of Dankos' products was limited.

Ibrahim said the company's total sales last year reached Rp
115 billion, up by 29 percent from 1994.

Out of last year's sales revenues, 64 percent derived from the
sales of over-the-counter products and 36 percent from ethical
products.

He said that in 1995, the company produced two new over-the-
counter products, namely Extra Joss and Cooling Plus.

Ibrahim also said that for the first quarter this year, Dankos
booked Rp 35 billion in sales and Rp 5 billion in profits. (alo)
