Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the Legal Information Centre of the Attorney General’s Office, Anang Supriatna, stated that Danke Rajagukguk has been transferred from her position as Head of the Karo District Prosecutor’s Office in North Sumatra. “For Karo, Ms Danke has been diagonally transferred. This means she is not in a structural position but in a functional one for the time being, and such occurrences are common in ministries and institutions,” he said when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta on Monday. Furthermore, he explained, the transfer is being carried out while awaiting the results of an internal examination of Danke following the controversy surrounding the handling of the legal case of videographer Amsal Sitepu by the Karo District Prosecutor’s Office. The position of Head of the Karo District Prosecutor’s Office has subsequently been filled by Edmond Novvery Purba, who previously served as Head of the South Nias District Prosecutor’s Office. The transfer of the Karo District Prosecutor is stipulated in the Attorney General’s Decree Number KEP-IV-347/C/04/2026 dated 13 April 2026 regarding the dismissal and appointment to and from structural positions of civil servant employees of the Republic of Indonesia Prosecutor’s Office. Previously, the Attorney General’s Office revealed that it had secured Danke Rajagukguk as Head of the Karo District Prosecutor’s Office, the Head of the Special Criminal Section, and public prosecutors at the Karo District Prosecutor’s Office. They are being examined as a result of the handling of the case of videographer Amsal Sitepu, which has sparked controversy. The Attorney General’s Office also emphasised that it prioritises the principle of prudence and upholds the presumption of innocence in the examination.
