Danish citizen dies in Central Jakarta

JAKARTA (JP): A 25-year-old native of Denmark died on Sunday
shortly after he was found lying against a wall in a Central
Jakarta alley with foam coming from his mouth and nose.

Identified as Jon Sorensen, the Dane was found by passersby on
Jl. Kebun Sirih Timur, Gang 3.

Adji Rahmadji and Novrizal said they found the foreigner lying
in the alley wearing brown shorts, a gray T-shirt and white
socks.

Adji and Novrizal, who are local residents, put the man into a
taxi and told the driver to take him to MMC Hospital in Kuningan,
South Jakarta.

However the driver, Sutarjo, saw that Jensen was dead when he
arrived at the hospital and called the police, who took the body
to the morgue at Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital.

The chief of the Menteng Police, Asst. Supt. Paulus Waterpauw,
said he had met with the victims' parents, who requested that an
autopsy not be conducted.

Separately, a woman from Germany filed a robbery report at
Jakarta Police Headquarters on Monday. The robbery took place on
Wednesday on Jl. Metro Pondok Indah, South Jakarta.

Anna Romina Pistor, 52, of Gandaria, South Jakarta, had just
finished shopping with her children at about 10:15 p.m. While
waiting for a taxi, two men on a motorcycle stopped in front of
her and one of the men got off the motorcycle.

He took out a sickle and attempted to grab her bag, but she
resisted. The man then slashed her right hand and grabbed her
bag, before escaping with his accomplice.

The two thieves fled with Rp 3 million in cash, credit and
insurance cards, an Olympus camera, a Siemens cellular phone,
