Daniel Muttaqien Elected as Chairman of Golkar's West Java Branch

Politician Daniel Muttaqien has officially been elected as Chairman of the West Java Golkar Branch (DPD Golkar Jabar) for the 2026-2030 period at the 11th Regional Deliberation (Musda) of Golkar Jabar held at the Trans Hotel in Bandung City on Thursday (2/4/2026). He was elected by acclamation after receiving full support from the district and city DPDs across West Java and the party’s wing organisations. “Congratulations and success to H Daniel Muttaqien, Chairman of DPD Golkar Jabar 2026-2030,” quoted from the official statement on the Golkar Jabar Instagram page on Thursday (2/4/2026). Daniel was supported by 21 district and city DPDs across West Java, party wing organisations, and other supporting organisations. His supporters escorted him during registration at the DPD Golkar Jabar office on Jalan Maskumambang, Bandung City, on Wednesday (1/4/2026). Previously, Daniel stated that the main reason for running for chairman at the Golkar Jabar Musda was the support from 22 district and city DPDs. Additionally, he felt he already had experience in Golkar Jabar. “First, the impetus is that I have indeed been involved in the management of the DPD Golkar West Java Province for one period,” he said. Moreover, he claimed to have received support from level II DPDs, which increased his confidence to participate in the chairmanship election contest in the Golkar Party Jabar. Daniel shares the same vision as his supporters: to make Golkar the winning party in the legislative elections, regional head elections, and presidential elections ahead. “So there’s nothing difficult, nothing hard when up to this point, being here, I have 22 supports.” He replaces Ace Hasan Sadzily, the previous Chairman of DPD Golkar West Java. The Golkar Party Central Executive Board (DPP) stated that West Java is an important and strategic province to win in the 2029 elections. Therefore, this province with a population of 50 million people receives priority. “The victory in West Java can determine the national victory, so the Golkar Party Jabar is truly made a shared home, thus in terms of strategy and interests, whoever is elected must develop a paradigm of enlarging Golkar, not controlling Golkar,” said Deputy General Chairman of DPP Golkar Idrus Marham at the 11th Musda Golkar Jabar in Bandung City on Thursday (2/4/2026). Idrus mentioned that Golkar DPP General Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia stated that West Java receives attention and priority in the 2029 elections. He appreciated the leadership of Ace Hasan Sadzily, who was able to increase the seat gains in the 2024 legislative elections. With that condition, the general chairman hopes that the seats will continue to increase. “The Musda is not just seen as a chairman change, because indeed Bung Ace is not running again, so like it or not, there must be a replacement. But the most important thing is to build a collective commitment to enlarge the Golkar party, not to control it,” he said. West Java Golkar DPD Chairman Ace Hasan Sadzily stated that the political achievements of the Golkar Party in West Java are the result of the collective work of all cadres. He said that the dynamics leading up to the leadership change are a normal thing in a political organisation but must be managed with maturity and collective responsibility. “This victory is not because of me. This victory is the hard work of all Golkar Party cadres in West Java, from the village level to the province,” he said. He admitted that he is not running again for Chairman of DPD Golkar Jabar because he received a mandate from the DPP to serve in Jakarta. Additionally, he is currently serving as Governor of Lemhannas.
