Daniel Mutaqien Elected by Acclamation, Embraces All Golkar Cadres in West Java
The Regional Deliberation of the Golkar Party in West Java proceeded in a calm atmosphere. Ahmad Hidayat, one of the candidates set to contest for the chairmanship, announced his withdrawal.
Daniel Mutaqien Syafiuddin thus became the sole candidate and was ultimately elected as Chairman of the West Java Golkar Party Regional Leadership Council by acclamation.
After being officially elected, Daniel emphasised that he would embrace all cadres to maintain the party’s solidarity.
“The Musda process ran smoothly and democratically, even though it concluded without a vote. Ahmad’s decision to withdraw from the contest is a step towards unity within the party,” Daniel stated on Thursday evening (2/4).
The Musda process, he continued, went well and resulted in an acclamation. Kang Ahmad decided to step down to preserve solidarity and immediately expressed his support.
According to him, this outcome serves as an important momentum for Golkar in West Java to further strengthen political consolidation, both at the elite level and at the grassroots.
Daniel outlined his initial steps, which include compiling a new organisational structure. The formation team has been given 30 days to complete the arrangement before proceeding to inauguration and organisational consolidation in the regions.
“The first step is certainly to compile the leadership structure. After that, inauguration and consolidation down to the districts, cities, and sub-districts,” he said.
Regarding consolidation to the lower levels, he added, this is a direct instruction from the Golkar Party Central Executive Board that must be implemented immediately throughout 2026. Additionally, preparations for the 2029 General Election are also crucial.
According to Daniel, the effective time remaining is relatively short, so the entire party machinery must move quickly.
“We must prepare for the 2029 General Election from now on. The effective time is only about two years before the stages begin,” he stressed.
Regarding the dynamics that occurred during the Musda, Daniel assured that there would be no factions within the party. He committed to embracing all cadres without exception.
“We will embrace everyone. This is a normal five-year dynamic in Golkar. Once it’s over, everyone unites again,” he asserted.
This event serves as a real symbol that the space for inclusivity needs not only to be discussed but also to be present in everyday life.
