In addition to the Chairman of the Merauke Legal Aid Institute (LBH), Johnny Teddy Wakum (JTW)—an indigenous women’s leader and environmental activist from Merauke, South Papua—the name of film director Dandhy Dwi Laksono has also been drawn into legal proceedings.

This fact was disclosed by the Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police (Polda Metro Jaya) while detailing developments regarding the report filed by Yasinta Moiwend, known as Mama Sinta, concerning allegations of fraud and the unauthorised collection of personal data during the production and screening of the documentary film.

The Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, stated that the report, currently being handled by the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation, does not target a single party alone.

“Mama Sinta has reported instances of fraud and the taking of personal data. This is still being investigated; there are two individuals reported in this matter, JTW and Mr DDL,” he said on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.

Investigators are currently gathering statements from the complainant, witnesses, and submitted evidence to unravel the core issues of the report. Budi emphasised that Mama Sinta’s report will continue to be processed according to established mechanisms, noting that the police cannot refuse reports from citizens seeking justice.

“The police must not refuse reports from the public. However, we will investigate the locus delicti (the scene of the crime). Where did the taking of personal data and these activities occur?” Budi added.

He further noted that if the alleged criminal activities are found to have occurred outside the jurisdiction of Polda Metro Jaya, coordination will be conducted with the relevant institutions, including the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) or the regional police in the area where the incident took place.

It was previously reported that Mama Sinta officially brought the dispute regarding the ‘Pesta Babi’ documentary to the legal arena. She reported the Chairman of LBH Merauke, identified by the initials JTW, to Polda Metro Jaya, claiming that her face and identity were featured in the film without her permission. The report has been officially received and registered at Polda Metro Jaya under number LP/B/3843/V/2026/SPKT/Polda Metro Jaya, dated 29 May 2026.
