PT Danareksa (Persero), as the Danareksa BUMN Holding, partnered with the National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) to distribute 14 cows and 12 goats, centred at PT Surabaya Industrial Estate Rungkut (SIER).

“Qurban is a highly effective instrument for redistributing welfare, as each sacrificial animal stimulates a long economic chain from livestock farmers, truck drivers, to small-scale economic actors like plastic wrapper manufacturers,” said Ngurah Wirawan, Managing Director of PT Danareksa (Persero), in a statement on Thursday.

The “Blessed Qurban, Empowering Villages” programme aims to bolster food security for approximately 3,800 underprivileged families across seven SIER neighbourhoods while stimulating microeconomic activity throughout the industrial estate’s supply chain via multiplier effects.

The number of sacrificial animals distributed increased by around 27% compared to last year’s distribution in Makassar.

“This backward economy phenomenon aligns with the strategic DNA of our industrial estate holding, where we act as a locomotive pulling the supply chain behind us to drive grassroots economic growth,” Ngurah added.

Ngurah further stated that this act of compassion underscores the company’s strategic compass as it transforms into Indonesia Industrial Estates, an industrial estate holding ecosystem focused on creating added value and direct welfare for communities in its operational areas.

The distribution was a collective contribution from core clusters, including PT Medan Industrial Estate (KIM), PT Makassar Industrial Estate (KIMA), PT Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung (Perseroda) (JIEP), PT Nusantara Bonded Zone (KBN), PT Wijayakusuma Industrial Estate (KIW), PT Batang Integrated Industrial Estate (KITB), and PT Surabaya Industrial Estate Rungkut (SIER), along with non-core clusters such as PT Asset Management Company (PPA), PT Nindya Karya, PT Indonesia Futures Clearing (KBI), PT Nusantara Payment Link, PT Danareksa Capital, and PT Danareksa Finance.

The industrial estate clusters managed by the holding cover seven strategic zones from Medan, Jakarta, Semarang, Batang, Surabaya, to Makassar. This positions the holding as one of the largest industrial estate operators in the country, with direct access to thousands of workers, business actors, and supporting communities.

Through strategic partnership with BAZNAS, this Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental initiative aims to support Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on poverty eradication (SDG 1) and hunger (SDG 2), aligning with the government’s Asta Cita vision.

Syarifuddin, Head of Research, Development, Planning, and Innovation at BAZNAS RI, praised Danareksa BUMN Holding’s consistent contributions since 2018 and confirmed strict standards in implementation.

“This collaboration is an ideal model of partnership between the business sector and the national zakat institution. We ensure all processes adhere to the 3A principles: Sharia-compliant, regulatory-compliant, and national integrity,” Syarifuddin said.
