Danareksa, the state-owned enterprise holding company, in partnership with the National Zakat Agency (Baznas), distributed approximately 3,000 sacrificial meat packages to underprivileged residents in Surabaya during Eid al-Adha 1447 AH.

Ngurah Wirawan, President Director of PT Danareksa (Persero), stated during the sacrificial animal handover at PT Surabaya Industrial Estate Rungkut (SIER) in Surabaya, East Java on Thursday that the thousands of meat packages distributed came from 14 cattle and 12 goats.

“Today, Danareksa has provided 14 cattle and 12 goats for Eid al-Adha 1447 AH sacrifices,” said Ngurah Wirawan.

He added that the “Blessed Sacrifice, Empowering Villages” programme is part of Danareksa Holding’s social contribution alongside its subsidiaries to assist communities, particularly beneficiaries or mustahik (recipients of zakat) in industrial and residential areas.

He stated that the initiative also represents corporate social responsibility and aims to strengthen compassion towards rural communities and underprivileged residents in Surabaya.

“This is part of our contribution from Danareksa Holding and all involved subsidiaries. We hope it demonstrates our participation and contribution to the local community and is part of our corporate social responsibility,” he added.

Ngurah noted that this year’s sacrificial animals exceeded last year’s programme in Makassar, South Sulawesi.

“Last year in Makassar, we distributed 10 animals; this year it’s more. Hopefully next year, wherever we operate in industrial cities, we can distribute even more,” he said.

“We extend our heartfelt congratulations and thanks to Danareksa because this programme has been running since 2018,” he said.

He stressed that the sacrificial meat distribution prioritises underprivileged communities to support beneficiaries’ nutritional needs.

“We will distribute to beneficiaries, particularly mustahik, as we are focused on improving their nutritional needs,” he said.

Syafrudin also confirmed that all management and distribution processes are conducted accountably and in accordance with Sharia regulations.

“All Baznas programmes are audited by a public accounting firm and Sharia audit from the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Insha’Allah, all our actions will comply with regulatory and Sharia rules,” he said.

In addition to sacrificial animal distribution, Baznas introduced several small-scale economic empowerment programmes in collaboration with partners, including food cart business assistance and ZMart for micro-entrepreneurs.

Syafrudin explained that these initiatives aim to strengthen community economies by supporting viable and sustainable businesses.

“We assist small-scale SMEs, such as women’s street vendors in various regions. We provide branding and capital,” he said.

Acting Director of PT SIER Lussi Erniawati said the sacrificial meat distribution focuses on communities around the company’s area and neighbouring villages.

“The distribution will be within the surrounding areas, Insha’Allah,” Lussi said.

She noted that approximately 3,000 packages will be distributed in coordination with local villages to ensure targeted delivery.

“Around 3,000 packages. Some have already been allocated to villages,” she said.
