Communications expert Hendri Satrio has assessed that Danantara has an important role that is not limited to boosting the performance of state-owned enterprises (SOEs), but also restoring public optimism.

“So it is clear that Danantara plays a very important and primary role in Indonesia’s development in the future. At least in the first period of President Prabowo’s administration and it is very likely to be continued in the future given the important and strategic role currently being undertaken by Danantara,” said Hensat, as Hendri Satrio is familiarly known, in a statement received in Jakarta on Friday.

Hensat noted that the latest data shows a number of SOEs have recorded significant profit growth in the Danantara era. President Prabowo Subianto, in a recent address at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, stated that the profits of SOEs had risen significantly. For instance, the profit of PT Timah rose by 804.7 percent, Pupuk Indonesia by 253 percent, Semen Indonesia by 196.5 percent, Pegadaian by 84.6 percent, Pertamina by 80 percent, Pelindo by 60.4 percent, BTN by 40.8 percent, and Bank Mandiri by 24.3 percent.

Hensat said the current improvement in SOE performance is not a coincidence, but the result of a number of fundamental changes in the management of SOEs under Danantara. President Prabowo stated that the improvement in governance and performance of SOEs had begun to show significant results, with dividend payments reaching Rp142.3 trillion, an increase of 67 percent compared to 2024. Prabowo said this increase occurred after the government corrected the financial reports of a number of SOEs. After correction, the 2024 SOE profit was recorded at Rp186 trillion, with dividends paid amounting to Rp85.5 trillion. Prabowo gave special appreciation to the leadership and the entire Danantara team for their work and contribution in reforming and transforming the SOEs. He assessed that the various reforms undertaken had impacted the performance improvement of a number of SOEs and appreciated Danantara’s steps, which were considered capable of driving efficiency and increasing the profits of state companies.
