Danantara's NeutraDC Partners with PLN to Power Hyperscale Data Centre Expansion in Cikarang
NeutraDC, a data centre company under PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk and part of the Danantara Indonesia ecosystem, is strengthening its national digital infrastructure expansion through the development of a data centre located in Cikarang, West Java. To support the realisation of this expansion, NeutraDC is collaborating with state electricity company PT PLN (Persero) to ensure energy supply readiness for the phased development of the hyperscale data centre facility.
The collaboration was formalised with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between NeutraDC Group CEO Rakhmad Tunggal Afifuddin and PLN officials in Bandung on Tuesday. The agreement also involved other companies related to electricity procurement in the Cikarang area.
The expansion will increase NeutraDC’s data centre capacity to 200 MW, bolstering Indonesia’s readiness to provide large-scale digital infrastructure amidst the rapid growth in demand for artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and digital services. This partnership is a strategic move by NeutraDC to ensure its capacity growth is supported by reliable, scalable, and resilient energy infrastructure.
Rakhmad Tunggal Afifuddin stated that the data centre capacity development is part of NeutraDC’s long-term strategy to strengthen Indonesia’s digital infrastructure capacity. He noted that the growing utilisation of AI, cloud computing, and data-based services requires data centres that not only have large capacity but also offer reliable and scalable services to match customer growth.
