Danantara Undertakes Downstreaming Projects Worth Rp 450.42 Trillion
CEO of Danantara Indonesia, Rosan Roeslani, revealed that Danantara has thus far undertaken downstream processing projects with investments reaching USD 26 billion, equivalent to Rp 450.42 trillion (at an exchange rate of Rp 17,324 per US dollar). Rosan confirmed that these downstream projects are in addition to the 30 projects currently being developed by Danantara. He mentioned that these USD 26 billion worth of downstream projects were already underway prior to the start of Phase I downstream projects in February 2026, which comprise 11 projects. Furthermore, these projects are separate from Phase II downstream projects, consisting of 13 initiatives, which were just launched today, Wednesday (29/4). “Indeed, there were already some running outside of the first and second phases, such as (two projects) in coconut downstreaming,” said Rosan during the Groundbreaking Ceremony for Phase II Downstream Projects in Cilacap, Central Java, on Wednesday (29/4). In addition to coconut downstreaming, there are also prior downstream projects in the chemical industry. “So if we aggregate this outside of what will be built later, the projects already developed by us are worth approximately USD 26 billion,” he explained. Previously, in November 2025, the chemical industry plant of PT Lotte Chemical Indonesia (LCI) began operations for producing 15 petrochemical products in Cilegon, Banten. This 110-hectare factory complex has a naphtha cracker production capacity of 3 million tonnes per year, yielding 1 million tonnes of ethylene, 520,000 tonnes of propylene, 350,000 tonnes of polypropylene, 140,000 tonnes of butadiene, and 400,000 tonnes of BTX (benzene, toluene, xylene) annually.
