Danantara Uncovers Governance Issues at Pos Indonesia, CEO Resigns

The Investment Management Agency Daya Anagata Nusantara (BPI Danantara) has stated it is currently rectifying the management of PT Pos Indonesia (Persero). Managing Director of Stakeholders Management & Communications at Danantara, Rohan Hafas, said there are various financial and governance issues that have accumulated over the years. “We have also received reports and found indications of various irregularities, including alleged financial engineering, which are currently being followed up through audit and investigation mechanisms in accordance with applicable regulations,” he said in a written statement on Friday, 3 July 2026. The statement was made after Pos Indonesia CEO Daud Joseph resigned from his position, which he had only held for about three months. Danantara has received the resignation letter and respects Daud’s decision, while preparing a replacement for the top leadership and continuing the company’s restructuring agenda. Rohan conveyed that the problems burdening the company need to be resolved one by one. Danantara does not provide room for practices that damage corporate governance. All findings will be followed up professionally, transparently, and in accordance with legal processes. “Our priority is to ensure PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) returns to being a healthy, professional, accountable, and high-integrity company, so it can optimally carry out its mandate for the public,” he said. Rohan explained that Daud was entrusted as CEO to conduct a comprehensive due diligence assessment of Pos Indonesia’s financial, operational, governance, and organisational conditions. From the results of that assessment, Daud conveyed that the company requires a thorough and fundamental overhaul. “According to him, the complexity of the problems faced and the future restructuring agenda require more specific expertise to lead the next phase of transformation,” he stated. Daud submitted his resignation letter on Thursday, 2 July 2026. Pos Indonesia Corporate Secretary Iwan Gunawan said the decision was purely based on personal desire and consideration. During the leadership transition period, Pos Indonesia ensures that the company’s operational activities continue to run and do not disrupt service processes to all stakeholders. “The company remains committed to carrying out the mandate of the Shareholders in providing the best service to the public, strengthening company performance, and executing ongoing strategic work programmes,” Iwan said on Thursday, 2 July 2026.
