Danantara Uncovers Alleged Financial Engineering at Pos Indonesia

The Investment Management Agency (BPI) Danantara Indonesia has uncovered various financial and governance issues that have accumulated over the years at PT Pos Indonesia, including indications of alleged financial engineering. Danantara stated that these findings emerged from a comprehensive due diligence and evaluation process conducted on PT Pos Indonesia, announced following the resignation of President Director Daud Joseph. Managing Director of Stakeholders Management & Communications Rohan Hafas said the indications of irregularities are currently being followed up through audit and investigation mechanisms in accordance with applicable regulations. “PT Pos Indonesia is currently undergoing a thorough overhaul. From the ongoing due diligence and evaluation process, we discovered various financial and governance issues that have accumulated over the years. We also received reports and found indications of various irregularities, including alleged financial engineering,” Rohan said in a written statement on Friday (3/7/2026). “This is currently being followed up through audit and investigation mechanisms in accordance with applicable regulations,” he explained. Rohan stressed that Danantara is committed to addressing the issues at PT Pos Indonesia one by one. He asserted that there will be no room for practices that undermine corporate governance. “All findings will be followed up professionally, transparently, and in accordance with legal processes. Our priority is to ensure PT Pos Indonesia returns to being a healthy, professional, accountable company with integrity, so it can optimally carry out its mandate for the public,” Rohan emphasised. Daud Joseph officially resigned as President Director of Pos Indonesia on Thursday, 2 July 2026. Daud stepped down for personal reasons that were not detailed. Danantara had received Daud’s resignation letter on Monday, 29 June 2026. He had previously been tasked with reforming the company’s financial, operational, governance, and organisational conditions. Rohan explained that Daud assessed the company needed a more suitable figure to lead the next phase of PT Pos Indonesia’s transformation, hence his decision to resign.
