Danantara Uncovers Alleged Financial Engineering at Pos Indonesia
The Indonesia Investment Management Agency (Danantara) has discovered various financial and governance issues that have accumulated over many years at PT Pos Indonesia, including indications of alleged financial manipulation.
Danantara stated that these findings were obtained through a comprehensive due diligence and evaluation process conducted on PT Pos Indonesia. The allegations of financial manipulation were announced by Danantara following the resignation of Daud Joseph from his position as President Director of Pos Indonesia.
Managing Director of Stakeholders Management & Communications, Rohan Hafas, stated that these indications of irregularities are currently being addressed through audit and investigation mechanisms in accordance with applicable regulations.
“We are currently undertaking a thorough overhaul of PT Pos Indonesia. From the ongoing due diligence and evaluation processes, we have found various financial and governance issues that have accumulated over many years. We have also received reports and found indications of various irregularities, including alleged financial manipulation,” Rohan said in a written statement on Friday (3/7/2026).
“This is currently being followed up through audit and investigation mechanisms in accordance with applicable regulations,” he continued.
Rohan emphasised that Danantara is committed to addressing the existing issues at PT Pos Indonesia one by one. In this regard, the agency asserted that there will be no room for practices that damage corporate governance.
“All findings will be followed up professionally, transparently, and in accordance with legal processes. Our priority is to ensure that PT Pos Indonesia returns to being a healthy, professional, accountable, and high-integrity company, so that it can optimally fulfil its mandate to the public,” Rohan asserted.
President Director of Pos Indonesia Resigns
As information, Daud Joseph officially resigned as the President Director of Pos Indonesia on Thursday, 2 July 2026. Daud resigned for personal reasons that were not explained in detail.
Danantara received Daud’s resignation letter on Monday, 29 June 2026. He had originally been tasked with reforming the company’s financial, operational, governance, and organisational conditions.
Rohan explained that Daud believed the company required a leader more suited to leading the next phase of PT Pos’s transformation agenda; therefore, Daud submitted his resignation.
“Based on the results of the assessment, the individual stated that PT Pos Indonesia requires a thorough and fundamental revamp. According to him, the complexity of the issues faced and the future restructuring agenda require more specific expertise to lead the next phase of transformation,” Rohan added in the same statement.
