Danantara Trust Fund to Collaborate with Gates Foundation
Danantara Chief Executive Officer Rosan Roeslani has announced that the Danantara Trust Fund will collaborate with the Gates Foundation. The matter was discussed during a meeting between Gates Foundation founder Bill Gates and President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace in Central Jakarta on Wednesday (7/5).
"I had already spoken with the Gates Foundation team yesterday morning about the potential collaboration with Danantara," said Rosan.
According to him, the Danantara Trust Fund will allocate between 1 and 2.5 per cent of total profits or dividends received each year. "Based on our running figures, at the beginning of the year we will initially put in 100 million US dollars," he said.
The Minister of Downstream Industries and Investment stated that within five to six years, the Danantara Trust Fund could accumulate up to 1 billion US dollars. The funds will be directed towards education, sanitation, and improving the living standards of the Indonesian people.
"We discussed this collaboration with the Gates Foundation yesterday, for them to also contribute funds alongside us," he said.
