Danantara Transforms PalmCo Business Model to Target Global Markets
The Head of the SOE Agency and COO of Danantara, Dony Oskaria, held a meeting with the President Director of PalmCo on Monday (31/8/2026). During the meeting, strategies for PalmCo’s transformation were discussed to strengthen its position as a global player in the palm oil industry.
“After successfully meeting domestic palm oil requirements, PalmCo is now beginning to expand its business wings into international markets,” Dony stated in a written statement in Jakarta on Tuesday (1/9/2026).
Dony noted that the transformation is directed towards increasing export capacity by utilising the surplus supply available after fulfilling domestic market obligations.
“Previously, the majority of our focus was domestic; now we want to penetrate exports. From the excess DMO (Domestic Market Obligation) that we possess, we can export; that is the first stage,” said Dony.
Beyond exports, Dony added that PalmCo is also preparing downstreaming steps in the global market through plans to build refineries or oil processing facilities abroad. This strategy is expected to increase product added value while strengthening PalmCo’s competitiveness amidst global palm oil industry competition.
“In the future, we intend to build refineries abroad, so that we can eventually produce refined palm oil,” said Dony.
Dony stated that these steps are part of PalmCo’s transformation to expand its business reach from being previously domestic-oriented to becoming a company with capacity and competitiveness at a global level.
