Chief Executive Officer of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara), Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, has stated that the down payment for purchasing national electric motorcycles will be removed, potentially reaching 0 percent.

Rosan said he had received information that the current down payment for national electric motorcycles stands at around 10 percent.

He made the remarks before President Prabowo Subianto at the launch of the national electric motorcycle in Cikarang, Bekasi, on Thursday, 13 August 2026.

“We will work to reduce the existing down payment, which according to information from our banking partners is 10 percent, and we will try to reduce it or even eliminate it entirely so that public interest in buying these electric motorcycles can grow quickly and smoothly,” Rosan said.

Rosan added that Danantara has been in communication with banks to provide credit financing at lower interest rates and with longer repayment periods.

“We are ready to support through our banking partners by providing funding at lower interest rates and with longer tenors,” he said.

Rosan also confirmed that the production process for national electric motorcycles will be accelerated. He considers these measures important given the enormous market potential for electric motorcycles in Indonesia.

“We have the capability to accelerate the production of national electric motorcycles in Indonesia,” he said.

Earlier, President Prabowo Subianto officially launched the National Electric Motorcycle (Molinas) and its supporting ecosystem in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java, on Thursday, 13 August 2026.

Prabowo described the launch as a concrete example of the ‘Indonesia Incorporated’ concept to strengthen national capacity in mastering science and technology.

“Today, in my opinion, is a good example of what I call ‘Indonesia Incorporated’,” Prabowo said at the National Electric Motorcycle Launch event in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java, on Thursday, 13 August 2026.

According to Prabowo, mastery of science and technology is key for a nation to sustain and develop its livelihood amid modern global competition.

“The success of a nation in the modern era lies in its ability to master science and technology and to use technology to sustain the life of that nation. Only then can a nation be considered successful, a country be considered successful,” he said.
