Danantara to Manage People's Money Worth USD 17,000 Trillion, Prabowo Warns Dony Oskaria: Don't Leak It!

Prabowo first introduced one by one the figures present to the public, including Dony Oskaria. ‘Mr Dony Oskaria, Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Agency that runs BUMN, and also Deputy Head of Danantara,’ he said. Prabowo then explained the function and duties of Danantara before the Kebumen audience. He described Danantara’s task as managing the nation’s wealth. ‘Danantara is our sovereignty fund, and Danantara is an acronym for Daya Anagata Nusantara. Daya means energy/strength, Anagata the future, so they manage the wealth of the entire nation for our children and grandchildren,’ he said. Prabowo then noted there are about a thousand BUMN now under Danantara with a total wealth valued at USD 17,000 trillion. He urged Dony and his staff to safeguard that wealth so it does not leak. ‘What is managed is not undertaken lightly; there are 1,040 BUMN. And the value of almost all of them is USD 17,000 trillion, 17,000 trillion, wow. So this must be managed properly, Mr Dony and all your staff. Do not leak, do not let that money evaporate, the people’s money,’ he said.
