The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS), Anggito Abimanyu, has stated that the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) will be involved in the coordination of the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK). “Last night there was a directive from the President to include Danantara. I think that is very good,” Anggito said following the ISEI National Seminar at the Perbanas Commissariat in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Anggito explained that the KSSK consists of the Minister of Finance as coordinator and member, the Governor of Bank Indonesia, the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of LPS as members. However, according to him, the KSSK can invite other elements related to the financial sector to participate in the coordination. “Danantara also manages the financial sector,” he stated.

Anggito emphasised that Danantara’s involvement is not for making policy decisions, but rather to strengthen inter-agency coordination. He explained that each authority retains its own policy-making powers. Meanwhile, the KSSK’s role is to coordinate fiscal, monetary, and financial sector policies, including deposit insurance and bank resolution, to ensure they are aligned.

“The KSSK is coordinating to align fiscal, monetary, financial sector, and deposit insurance and bank resolution policies. We do not make policy decisions in the KSSK,” he said. The results of the inter-authority coordination are scheduled to be announced next week.

Danantara is a strategic investment management body under the President mandated to manage and optimise government investments and state-owned enterprise (SOE) assets. As of January 2026, the agency manages assets worth approximately USD 1 trillion, equivalent to around IDR 18,087 trillion, and oversees roughly 1,044 SOEs. This number is planned to be gradually streamlined to around 300 companies.

The KSSK’s coordination comes as it maintains that financial system stability remained solid in the first quarter of 2026, despite global financial market volatility influenced by dynamics in the Middle East. The committee operates under the mandate of Law Number 9 of 2016 on the Prevention and Management of Financial System Crises, which was strengthened by Law Number 4 of 2023 on Financial Sector Development and Reinforcement.
