Danantara to Gradually Resolve Financial Burdens of KAI and WIKA

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Danantara Indonesia, Dony Oskaria, has ensured that the financial burdens borne by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) and PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) (WIKA) regarding the PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) project will be resolved gradually as part of the restructuring of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs).

Dony stated that these issues are part of various problems that existed prior to the formation of Danantara. Consequently, the resolution is being carried out in stages, given the numerous issues that need to be addressed within the SOE environment.

“We are currently in the process of resolving existing problems. These problems existed before us, and given their immense scale, our energy is naturally limited; we must resolve them one by one, and this process is not yet complete,” Dony said at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Friday.

He explained that Danantara is currently handling not only the issues faced by KAI and WIKA but also various other problems within several SOEs.

“We have to settle them one by one. This is not finished; there is still much to do. For instance, we saw that PT Pos still has problems, as did Adhi Properti. These are legacy issues that must be addressed at this time,” he said.

Responding to WIKA’s financial burden due to its involvement in the KCIC project, Dony acknowledged that the state-owned construction company is indeed still facing pressure.

“This has become a burden for them, but ultimately, we must resolve it; we cannot simply leave it. Therefore, I am merely striving to resolve these matters one by one to ensure everything becomes proper and correct,” Dony explained.
