Danantara to Establish Trust Fund with US$100 Million Annual Allocation

JAKARTA - Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Danantara and Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Perkasa Roeslani has outlined Danantara's strategic commitment to strengthening the role of the sovereign wealth fund through the establishment of the Danantara Trust Fund.

He revealed that Danantara is currently forming the Danantara Trust Fund as part of a strategic move to broaden its social impact and sustainable development efforts. Furthermore, Rosan stated that Danantara is committed to allocating up to 2.5 per cent of the company's dividend payout ratio into the fund.

"We are also establishing the Danantara Trust Fund. In our internal discussions, we have committed to setting aside up to 2.5 per cent of our dividend payout ratio. Looking at the figures, each year we will allocate at least US$100 million into the Danantara Trust Fund," said Rosan via the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel on Wednesday, 7 May.

According to him, over the next five to six years, the total allocated funds will accumulate to as much as US$1 billion.

Rosan further noted the opportunity for collaboration with Bill Gates, founder of the Gates Foundation, given their shared focus on various strategic sectors such as education, health, sanitation, and poverty alleviation.

"This opens up potential collaboration opportunities with the Gates Foundation. We also share a common focus in several sectors such as education, health, sanitation, and poverty alleviation," he explained.

He added that this forms part of a collaborative effort to deliver a broader positive impact.
