Danantara to be Included in Financial System Stability Committee
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Danantara Investment Management Agency, Rosan Roeslani, stated that Danantara will be involved in the decision-making process of the Financial System Stability Committee (KKSK). This follows the resignation of Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo.
Rosan explained that the directive is for the KKSK to include Danantara in its decision-making, ensuring that considerations extend beyond fiscal and monetary aspects to also encompass direct impacts on the economy and the business sector. "So the KKSK is also asked to involve Danantara in every decision-making process, so that it has a direct impact on the economy and business, not just from the fiscal and monetary side," Rosan said after a limited meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Monday.
He elaborated that the involvement is directed towards expanding financial sector policy coordination to consider the entire ecosystem. "So it’s more about the whole ecosystem. The direction is KKSK Plus, Plus Danantara," Rosan stated.
When asked whether Danantara would attend the government’s regular economic team meetings, Rosan confirmed that the directive points towards Danantara’s involvement in every meeting. "Yes, the direction was like that," Rosan said.
Regarding the resignation of Perry Warjiyo as Governor of Bank Indonesia, which was announced earlier that morning, Rosan declined to comment on the appointment of a permanent replacement. The government has accepted Perry’s resignation letter and temporarily appointed Senior Deputy Governor Destry Damayanti as acting Governor of Bank Indonesia. "Oh no, that is the prerogative of the President," Rosan said.
Perry Warjiyo resigned from his position as Governor of Bank Indonesia after serving for approximately seven years. The government stated that the resignation was voluntary and for personal reasons, while the process for filling the definitive position of BI Governor will follow the applicable mechanisms and statutory provisions.
