Danantara to Announce Management of State-Owned Export Enterprise

Starting 1 June 2026, commodity exporters will be required to report exports to PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI). However, the government has yet to announce the full management team of the state-owned export enterprise. Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Danantara Indonesia, Dony Oskaria, stated that Danantara is conducting a rigorous selection process for human resources joining DSI. ‘We are currently undergoing a strict selection process regarding the human resources who will join Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia,’ he said during a press conference in Jakarta on Sunday, 31 May 2026, preparing for DSI’s operational launch. Previously, Danantara announced Luke Thomas Mahony, an Australian national and former director of PT Vale Indonesia Tbk, as chairman of PT DSI. The head of the BUMN Regulatory Body stated new names would be announced in the first week of the transition period beginning 1 June. ‘Hopefully, more names will be announced by Danantara next week as part of the team,’ Dony said. Dony added that Danantara is collaborating with several ministries to assist in selecting human resources for PT DSI. ‘We are also being assisted by the Ministry of Finance, which is contributing personnel, the Ministry of Trade, and the Investment Coordinating Board,’ he said. Dony confirmed that management appointments are not solely handled by Danantara but also by stakeholders involved in export restructuring. This ensures PT DSI operates with good governance, transparency, and accountability. The step is crucial to prevent single-channel export management from becoming a new issue or merely shifting existing problems.
