Danantara Targets Rp1,200 Trillion Investment by 2027, DPR Questions Sources
The Deputy Chairman of Commission XI of the DPR, Fauzi Amro, explained the involvement of BPI Danantara during a consultation meeting with the leadership of the DPR, Commission XI, the Minister of Finance, the Acting Governor of Bank Indonesia, and the Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners.
According to Fauzi, the meeting discussed macroeconomic assumptions for 2027, including exchange rates and investment. He noted that the discussions covered growth, state revenue, state expenditure, and the 2027 deficit, all aimed at achieving a 6% economic growth target.
During the meeting, the DPR sought to align perceptions between the government, Bank Indonesia, and Danantara. Fauzi confirmed that there would be no changes to the macroeconomic assumptions for the 2027 State Budget (APBN).
He emphasised that all parties present agreed on the necessity of realising the 6% growth target for 2027. He further explained that Danantara’s presence was requested because the DPR sought clarification regarding the Rp1,200 trillion investment target, which was formulated by Danantara itself.
“The issue is, they (Danantara) formulated the Rp1,200 trillion figure. Where will all these investments come from?” Fauzi asserted.
“That is why Mr Dony (COO of Danantara) is here, to ensure that the [investment target] of Rp1,200 trillion for 2027 is achievable,” he added.
Fauzi explained that this investment target is crucial to supporting economic growth, noting that higher investment levels are directly linked to higher economic growth. He stressed the importance of synchronising these efforts, stating, “This must be synchronised. We must not have high growth paired with standard investment levels.”
Fauzi noted that during the meeting, Danantara would formulate concrete steps to achieve the Rp1,200 trillion investment target by 2027. However, he declined to provide specific details regarding the roadmap for this plan.
