Danantara seeks to integrate SOE whistleblowing system with KPK

The Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) plans to integrate the whistleblowing system (WBS) across all state-owned enterprises (SOEs) with the system owned by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as part of efforts to strengthen corruption prevention. “What we hope is that it will be integrated later. All SOEs must be integrated with the KPK,” said Danantara Chief Operating Officer (COO) Dony Oskaria after a meeting with the KPK at the KPK Anti-Corruption Education Centre in Jakarta on Monday. Dony said the integration is part of Danantara’s commitment to ensuring that SOE management runs transparently and in accordance with good governance principles. “Because we want these SOEs to be truly managed well and in accordance with existing governance in the future,” he said. In addition to WBS integration, Danantara also affirmed its commitment to complying with the obligation to report the State Officials’ Wealth Report (LHKPN) in a timely manner. He also expressed hope that the cooperation between Danantara and the KPK would not stop at the signing of a formal agreement, but would be realised in assistance and strengthening of the corruption prevention system within the SOE environment. “We hope that the relationship between the Deputy for Prevention and Danantara is not just a written cooperation, but becomes part of the daily management of SOEs,” he said. Meanwhile, KPK Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring Aminudin said his institution is building collaboration with Danantara in various corruption prevention efforts. According to him, the KPK will connect the WBS owned by the anti-corruption agency with the reporting systems within the SOE environment. In addition, the KPK is also encouraging increased compliance with LHKPN reporting and strengthening the anti-corruption culture within Danantara and SOEs. Aminudin said the KPK is encouraging each work unit to have personnel certified as Anti-Corruption Extension Workers (PAKSI), Integrity Development Experts (API), and Corruption Risk Assessment (CRA) specialists to strengthen the corruption prevention system. According to him, this step is important to ensure that regulations and governance within the SOE environment do not open up opportunities for criminal acts of corruption.
