Danantara says state banks ready to provide funding support for Molinas

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Danantara CEO Rosan Perkasa said that all banks and financial institutions under Danantara (Himbara/Himpunan Bank Milik Negara) are ready to support the National Electric Motorcycle (Molinas) by providing funding at lower interest rates.

“All banks and all financial institutions under Danantara are ready to provide support. From the banking side, we are providing funding with lower interest rates and longer tenors,” Rosan said at the launch and inauguration of Molinas and its supporting ecosystem in Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java, on Thursday.

In addition, Rosan also said that Danantara plans to reduce or even eliminate the 10 percent down payment (DP).

The move aims to increase public interest in buying electric motorcycles.

“So that we have the ability to accelerate the production of national electric motorcycles in Indonesia,” Rosan said.

Rosan, who is also Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), assessed that the potential market for electric motorcycles in Indonesia reaches 170 billion US dollars, or around Rp3,036 trillion (at an exchange rate of Rp17,858.70).

Based on this potential, Rosan said, there are approximately 10 national companies that already meet the TKDN (Domestic Component Level) criteria set by the Ministry of Industry.

In order to develop the national electric motorcycle industry, Rosan also mentioned the involvement of PT Len Industri, so that national electric motorcycles have international standardisation.

“Not only to become a champion in Indonesia, but also a champion in the region, and even a champion in the world,” Rosan said.

President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated the domestically produced National Electric Motorcycle (Molinas) and its supporting ecosystem at the production facility of PT Ilectra Motor Group (ALVA) in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java, on Thursday.

In his remarks, President Prabowo praised the courage of private business players, especially those willing to take risks in producing electric motorcycles amid intense competition from Chinese, Japanese and South Korean electric motorcycles.

For the President, the entrepreneurs’ move is part of a joint effort to build Indonesia, which President Prabowo often refers to as Indonesia Incorporated.

According to Prabowo, the courage of entrepreneurs to produce electric motorcycles is part of the national interest, particularly in reducing dependence on imported fuel oil (BBM).
