Danantara Reveals Alleged Financial Engineering at Pos Indonesia After CEO Resigns

The Investment Management Agency (BPI) Danantara has revealed findings of various financial and governance problems, including alleged financial engineering, that have accumulated for years at PT Pos Indonesia. The disclosure of the alleged financial engineering came after Daud Joseph resigned from his position as President Director of PT Pos Indonesia. Managing Director of Stakeholders Management & Communications at BPI Danantara, Rohan Hafas, stated that the findings resulted from a comprehensive due diligence and evaluation process conducted by Danantara on PT Pos Indonesia. He confirmed that Danantara will continue to follow up on the indications of financial irregularities through audit and investigation mechanisms in accordance with applicable regulations. “PT Pos Indonesia is currently undergoing a thorough overhaul. From the ongoing due diligence and evaluation process, we discovered various financial and governance issues that have accumulated over the years,” Rohan said in a statement on Friday, 3 July 2026. “We also received reports and found indications of various irregularities, including alleged financial engineering,” he added. Rohan assured that Danantara remains committed to reforming PT Pos Indonesia in stages and stressed that there will be no room for practices that undermine corporate governance. “All findings will be followed up professionally, transparently, and in accordance with legal processes. Our priority is to ensure PT Pos Indonesia returns to being a healthy, professional, accountable, and integrity-driven company, so it can optimally carry out its mandate for the public,” Rohan stated. Daud Joseph’s resignation from his position as President Director of PT Pos Indonesia on Thursday, 2 July 2026, was only explained as being for unspecified personal reasons. Danantara received Daud Joseph’s resignation letter on Monday, 29 June 2026. Previously, Daud had been tasked with reforming the company’s finances, operations, governance, and organisation. Rohan explained that, according to Daud, the company needed a more suitable leader to head the next phase of PT Pos Indonesia’s transformation, which prompted his resignation. “Based on the results of that assessment, the individual concerned conveyed that PT Pos Indonesia requires a comprehensive and fundamental revamp,” Rohan said.
