Danantara Reopens Partner Selection to Accelerate Waste-to-Energy Projects
PT Danantara Investment Management (DIM) has reopened registration for its Selected Provider List (DPT) to recruit partners for waste-to-energy (PSEL) projects in Indonesia. The selection is open to both national and international companies and consortiums possessing technical capabilities and project funding. The pre-qualification process is being conducted through DIM’s subsidiary, PT Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara (Denera). The registration was reopened after two previous pre-qualification rounds attracted participation from companies across seven countries. The PSEL programme refers to Presidential Regulation Number 109 of 2025, which serves as the foundation for accelerating the construction of facilities that process waste into electrical energy. The project is directed at addressing urban waste problems while simultaneously generating energy from waste processing. In this selection round, DIM and Denera are seeking companies or consortium members with a track record in PSEL project development, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), technology provision, operations and maintenance (O&M), project financing, and related infrastructure services. The selection will consider technical ability, funding capacity, experience, and the capability to execute large-scale projects. DIM’s Investment Director and Chief Executive Officer of Denera, Fadli Rahman, stated that expanding the DPT aims to increase the pool of potential partners who can be involved in PSEL project development. ‘The challenge of waste management in Indonesia cannot be solved through individual projects alone. A credible partner ecosystem is needed, one with technology, funding capacity, operational capability, and a long-term commitment to execute projects on a large scale,’ Fadli said in a statement on Wednesday (5/8/2026). He added that through the DPT registration, Danantara is expanding this ecosystem while opening opportunities for more national and international businesses to bring their best experience and capabilities to the PSEL programme in Indonesia. ‘Our priority remains the same: strong partnerships, proven capabilities, and execution that delivers real impact on the ground,’ Fadli said. PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance (IIF) has been appointed as the Registration and Verification Agent for the DPT registration process. Interested parties can contact IIF via the official DPT registration email address at danantara.wtepartnership@iif.co.id. Fadli explained that IIF will handle the registration process and provide a registration package to companies interested in participating in the pre-qualification. The package includes the Expression of Interest requirements, supporting documents to be submitted, the document submission mechanism, the implementation schedule, and access to a virtual data room.
