Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Danantara Indonesia, Pandu Sjahrir, emphasised that the company remains active in investing in the domestic stock market even as the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) experiences volatility due to uncertainties from the conflict between the United States (US) and Iran in the Middle East region.

Pandu explained that the fluctuating conditions are not only occurring in Indonesia but are also affecting global and regional stock markets.

“I think all markets are currently facing issues due to the war problems, so it’s not just Indonesia, all markets. Of course, as we say, we look, I always communicate, we are always active in the market, we look, of course we will also look at the best returns,” said Pandu in an interview after the “Outlook Indonesia ‘Role of National Economic Drivers’” event in Jakarta on Tuesday.

In determining the direction of investments, Danantara will prioritise shares from companies that have bright prospects, strong fundamentals, and high liquidity.

“So I say, companies that have good prospects, good fundamentals, good liquidity, of course we will look at them,” said Pandu.

Amid global uncertainties, Pandu assured that Danantara has prepared special funds for investing in the Indonesian stock market. The realisation of these investments will be carried out through several investment managers (MI) under the company’s management.

“We’ll see, that’s the matter later, right, our work is also in collaboration with MI (investment managers). So we go through several MIs, they will carry that out. But we have already reserved funds to invest there (in the stock market),” said Pandu.

As part of the investment strengthening strategy, PT Danantara Asset Management (DAM) on 1 April 2026 signed a conditional share purchase agreement with several investment management companies. The entities included in the cooperation are PT BNI Asset Management, PT Mandiri Investment Management, PT BRI Investment Management, and PT PNM Investment Management.

Meanwhile, based on Tuesday’s (7/4) closing trade data, the IHSG was recorded to weaken by 18.40 points or 0.26 percent to the level of 6,971.03. The benchmark LQ45 stock index also declined by 6.10 points or 0.86 percent to 701.66.

Stock trading activity was quite busy with a frequency of 1,767,356 transactions. The total volume of shares traded reached 27.16 billion shares with a transaction value of Rp13.48 trillion. Of the total shares traded, 250 shares strengthened, 407 shares weakened, and 158 shares were stagnant.
