Danantara Remains Active in Investments Amid Volatile IHSG Due to Conflict
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Danantara Indonesia’s Chief Investment Officer (CIO), Pandu Sjahrir, has assured that the firm remains actively investing in the Indonesian stock market amid the volatility of the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) due to uncertainties over the direction of the conflict between the United States (US) and Iran in the Middle East region. He stated that this volatility is not limited to the IHSG but is also experienced by stock exchanges in the regional and global arenas. “I think all markets are currently facing issues due to the war problems, so it’s not just Indonesia, all markets. Of course, as we say, we look, I always communicate, we are always active in the market, we look, of course we will also look for the best returns,” Pandu said in a brief interview after the Indonesia Outlook event “The Role of National Economic Drivers” in Jakarta on Tuesday. Regarding preferred investment stocks, he revealed that Danantara will focus on shares/companies with positive prospects, strong fundamentals, and good liquidity in the Indonesian stock market. “So I say, companies that have good prospects, good fundamentals, good liquidity, of course we will look at them,” Pandu stated. Amid global conflict turbulence, he assured that Danantara has reserved funds for investing in the Indonesian stock market, which will be executed through investment managers (MI) under their control. “We’ll see, that’s the matter later, of course our work is in collaboration with MI (investment managers) as well. So we go through several MIs, they will handle that. But we have already reserved funds to invest there (in the stock market),” Pandu said. For information, PT Danantara Asset Management (DAM) signed a conditional share purchase agreement for their subsidiary shares in the investment manager (MI) sector on 1 April 2026, covering PT BNI Asset Management (BNI AM), PT Mandiri Investment Management, PT BRI Investment Management, and PT PNM Investment Management.
