Danantara pushes for technology transfer in advanced material investments
The Danantara Investment Management Agency is encouraging technology transfer, co-development, and the involvement of universities and research institutions in advanced material investments. “Our concept in inviting investment partners is not only about cost and time, but also industrial development. We want technology transfer, co-development, and the involvement of universities and research institutions such as BRIN,” said Ardy Muawin, Managing Director of Industrialization at Danantara, in an official statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday. According to him, mastery of advanced materials is necessary so that Indonesia can evolve from a country reliant on natural resource wealth into one with stronger industrial and technological capabilities. The push for advanced material development comes alongside growing downstream investment in Indonesia. The Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM recorded that realised downstream investment reached Rp300.1 trillion in the first half of 2026, accounting for 29.7 percent of the total national investment of Rp1,010.6 trillion.
