Danantara: Public Raises Rp 2.16 Billion for NTT Disaster Victims
Danantara Indonesia has reported that donations for residents affected by the disaster in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), collected from the public through the ‘Folk Arts in the Togetherness of Independence’ event, reached Rp 2,164,037,334.
Managing Director of Stakeholder Management at Danantara Indonesia, Rohan Hafas, explained that through QR codes available at three performance stages, the extended family of state-owned enterprises (BUMN) and Danantara Indonesia, together with the government, facilitated public participation to come together and help fellow citizens affected by the earthquake in the region.
“This year’s Independence Day momentum serves as a reminder of the strength of mutual cooperation. Public participation in the Folk Arts in the Togetherness of Independence event can be translated into tangible support for our brothers and sisters affected by the disaster in NTT,” said Rohan in his statement on Tuesday, 18 August 2026.
He said Danantara Indonesia is coordinating a cross-SOE response to support the fulfilment of basic needs of affected communities in a targeted manner. This step is part of the commitment of state-owned enterprises to be present among the community when facing emergency situations.
Coordination of aid in several regions, Rohan added, has been intensified during the emergency response period set by the regional government until 28 August 2026. In the initial phase of the emergency response period, the main focus is directed at restoring public services that form the backbone of the humanitarian response.
As of Monday, 17 August 2026, PLN has restored approximately 88 percent of customers and 98.3 percent of the electricity network affected by the earthquake, allowing basic community services, public facilities, and aid posts to resume operations.
On the communications side, Telkom Group is accelerating the recovery of telecommunications networks in several affected areas to ensure coordination and access to information can continue. In addition, fuel supply and distribution have also been strengthened to facilitate community mobility and aid deployment.
Several state-owned enterprises are also distributing humanitarian aid in the affected districts. The support collected is being channelled to meet the urgent needs of communities at various affected locations.
Aid collection is still ongoing in line with the mapping of needs on the ground, so that the support provided can continue to be adjusted to the conditions of affected communities, ranging from food, clean water, medicines, evacuation supplies, to operational support for aid posts and public facilities.
