Danantara Prepares Investment in IDX, Stake Size Undisclosed
The Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) is preparing its involvement in the demutualisation of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). However, Danantara has not yet disclosed the amount of funds or the ownership stake it will take.
BPI Danantara Chief Investment Officer Pandu Sjahrir said the agency is still coordinating with the IDX and the Financial Services Authority (OJK). Danantara’s involvement will be carried out through Danantara Investment Management (DIM).
“We are currently communicating and providing direction for DIM to execute the investment for demutualisation,” Pandu said when met after the launch of a gold ETF and the 49th anniversary of the Indonesian capital market at the Main Hall of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in Jakarta on Monday (10/8/2026).
Pandu said the IDX demutualisation process is expected to be completed within the next few months. However, he did not provide details on the size of the investment or Danantara’s ownership stake in the IDX.
“We hope it can be completed within the next few months. We will share the details with everyone shortly,” he said.
Danantara’s involvement in the IDX demutualisation is part of the change in the exchange’s ownership structure mandated by the Financial Sector Development and Strengthening Law (P2SK).
OJK Board of Commissioners Chairperson Friderica Widyasari Dewi said the OJK, together with relevant stakeholders, is currently drafting an OJK regulation (POJK) on the demutualisation of the IDX. The regulation will govern changes to the exchange’s ownership structure and governance.
