Jakarta - Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani has revealed plans to purchase a 32-hectare plot of land in Saudi Arabia. According to Rosan, the site is located just 600 metres from Masjidil Haram. The process is currently at the tender stage, being conducted by the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites (RCMC). The land forms part of the hajj village project.

“The second phase is still in process. But we have been informed that we will secure the tender. The land is approximately only 600 metres from Masjidil Haram and covers an area of 32 hectares,” Rosan explained at a press conference at Wisma Danantara, Jakarta, on Friday (13/2/2026).

Previously, Danantara had also purchased three buildings, including one hotel. The total number of rooms from the acquired assets amounts to approximately 1,461.

“What we have already purchased is one hotel, a total of three buildings, with approximately 1,461 rooms,” he said.

In front of the area lies a plot of approximately five hectares where 13 towers and one shopping centre are planned for construction. Danantara is currently calculating the development plan for the 13 towers. The construction site is located approximately 2.5 kilometres from Masjidil Haram, though direct access is already available via a completed tunnel.

“In front of it is the land, a total of five hectares, where 13 towers and one shopping centre are planned. We are currently calculating the construction of those 13 towers. It is approximately 2.5 kilometres from Masjidil Haram. But there is a direct tunnel that has already been built and completed,” Rosan explained.
