Danantara Partners with JBS Group, Prepares US$2.5 Billion Investment
Danantara Indonesia, through Danantara Investment Management (DIM), has officially entered a long-term strategic partnership with JBS Group, one of the world’s leading protein producers.
The partnership focuses on JBS operations in Australia and New Zealand, and forms part of Danantara Indonesia’s strategy to partner with world-class operators and enter sectors with sustainable global relevance and long-term value creation opportunities.
In the transaction, DIM will inject US$2.5 billion to acquire a 25 percent stake in a new joint venture (JV) that will manage JBS operations in Australia and New Zealand.
The funds will be directed towards financing various acquisitions and greenfield investments in a number of strategic markets, including Indonesia, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.
For DIM, this investment is not merely a shareholding. The partnership with JBS provides access to an established business ecosystem in international markets, as well as management experience with proven operational capabilities.
JBS itself has a track record of value creation through consistent growth, market share expansion, and the ability to adapt to various industry cycles.
“This strategic partnership reflects Danantara Indonesia’s commitment to building collaboration with global partners aligned with our investment mandate,” said Danantara Indonesia Chief Investment Officer Pandu Patria Sjahrir, as quoted from an official statement on Sunday (9/8/2026).
