Indonesia’s investment management body, Badan Pengelola Investasi Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara Indonesia), has announced the selection of a partner to operate a waste-to-energy (WtE) facility in Bogor Raya, West Java.

Following a comprehensive partner selection process involving several experienced international companies, Danantara has appointed Zhejiang Weiming Environment Protection Co, Ltd as the operator of the Bogor Raya facility.

Chief Investment Officer of Danantara, Pandu Sjahrir, stated in an official statement in Jakarta on Saturday 14 March 2026 that the appointment represents an important step in implementing an integrated waste management solution based on good governance and the highest operational standards.

“The selected partner is expected to maintain consistent operational performance, ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, and support engagement with the surrounding community,” said Pandu.

In line with Presidential Regulation No. 109 of 2025, the appointment of the operator for the Bogor Raya facility is a significant milestone in Danantara’s waste-to-energy programme. The programme aims to address waste challenges by strengthening urban waste management systems and reducing dependence on landfill facilities.

“The operator partner is required to establish a consortium to promote technology transfer and closer collaboration with regional governments and Indonesian companies,” Pandu added.

In accordance with Danantara’s dual mandate, the Bogor Raya facility will be developed with strong operational reliability, responsible environmental management, and collaboration and technology transfer with local stakeholders.
