Danantara Partners with BUMN Peduli to Aid NTT Earthquake Victims
Danantara Indonesia, together with BUMN Peduli, has distributed aid to communities affected by the earthquake in Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). The assistance includes restoration of basic services and distribution of essential supplies to several affected locations.
Danantara Indonesia announced the move through a post on its Instagram account @danantara.indonesia on Sunday evening (16/8/2026).
“As a demonstration of concern, Danantara Indonesia together with the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises moved quickly to respond to the situation in Nusa Tenggara Timur by coordinating recovery efforts through BUMN Peduli,” Danantara management said.
Several state-owned enterprises involved include PT PLN (Persero), Telkom Indonesia, PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk, and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk.
PLN provided emergency lighting and restored 88 percent of customers and 98.3 percent of the electricity network in affected locations. Meanwhile, Telkom Indonesia accelerated the restoration of communication networks to support communication and coordination on the ground.
Bank Mandiri and BRI distributed basic necessities, including food, medicines, baby supplies, clean water, and generators.
The distribution of aid and emergency response support reached several locations in Sikka Regency, Ngada Regency, and Manggarai Regency. The locations include integrated command posts, evacuation areas, and health facilities.
“This emergency response and post-disaster effort is evidence of Danantara Indonesia’s commitment to remain present, accompanying and strengthening affected communities,” Danantara management wrote.
Previously, President Prabowo Subianto sent 50,000 basic food packages to communities affected by the NTT earthquake. The President also tasked the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, the Minister of Home Affairs, the Minister of Public Works, the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), the Head of Basarnas, Bulog, Pertamina, and Telkom Indonesia with handling the NTT disaster.
A tectonic earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 struck the Flores region of Nusa Tenggara Timur on Saturday (15/8/2026) at 04:58 WIB.
The disaster caused at least 47 deaths and displaced around 5,000 residents. The earthquake also damaged a number of homes and infrastructure in affected areas.
The NTT Provincial Government has declared a disaster emergency status to handle the impact of the earthquake.
