The Investment Management Agency Daya Anagata Nusantara (BPI Danantara) has opened new registrations for companies wishing to partner in the Waste-to-Electricity Processing (PSEL) project. This registration marks the second wave following the initial selection process for projects in Bekasi, Greater Denpasar, and Greater Bogor.

Director of Investment at PT Danantara Investment Management, Fadli Rahman, stated that this registration process opens opportunities for technology selection and expands funding from various countries, while strengthening domestic investment.

“This is part of Danantara’s efforts to broaden the participation of national and global companies in the development of modern waste processing infrastructure in Indonesia,” he said in a written statement on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.

This registration will form a Verified Provider List (DPT) consisting of companies deemed to meet the criteria for participation. They will subsequently be selected based on the best technology and funding offers for the waste-to-energy processing projects.

“Previously, it has attracted interest from various international companies and investors to jointly address the national waste emergency issue,” Fadli added.

During the first registration in 2025, Danantara released 24 companies included in the DPT. The majority that passed were corporations from China. Those ultimately selected include Zhejiang Weiming Environment Protection Co. Ltd. as the PSEL manager partner in Greater Bogor and Greater Denpasar, as well as Wangneng Environment Co., Ltd. managing in Bekasi.

Companies selected as partners are required to form consortia involving local corporations, both private and government-owned. This collaboration aims to facilitate technology transfer and broader involvement on the ground.
