Danantara Opens Registration for Second Wave of Waste-to-Energy Project Partners
Jakarta — Danantara Indonesia, through PT Danantara Investment Management (DIM), has opened new registration for companies interested in becoming potential partners in the development of Waste-to-Energy (WtE) projects in Indonesia.
This second wave of registration follows the first selection process for partners in the Bekasi, Denpasar Raya, Bogor Raya, and Yogyakarta regions.
Director of Investment DIM Fadli Rahman stated in an official statement in Jakarta on Tuesday that reopening the Verified Service Provider List (DPT) is being conducted to expand technology options and broaden funding from various countries, whilst strengthening domestic investment.
“This new registration opening is part of Danantara’s effort to expand participation by national and global companies in developing modern waste processing infrastructure in Indonesia, which has previously attracted the interest of various international companies and investors in collectively addressing Indonesia’s national waste emergency,” Fadli said.
The programme forms part of implementing the national regulatory framework for waste management, including Presidential Regulation No. 109 of 2025, which regulates the conversion of urban waste into energy through environmentally friendly technology.
Through this process, Danantara is opening opportunities for national and international business entities with experience, capacity, and capability in developing WtE projects to participate in the DPT formation process, which functions as a pre-qualification list for companies meeting the criteria to participate.
“Companies included in the DPT will become part of the prospective partner group, with the potential to be involved in WtE project development in Indonesia in subsequent stages,” Fadli said.
Fadli explained that the initiative is part of Danantara’s commitment to supporting the national waste emergency response agenda whilst advancing sustainable green energy development.
Through strategic investment approach and professional selection processes, Danantara aims to ensure Waste-to-Energy projects proceed with appropriate technology, good governance, and provide long-term benefits for society.
“Opening of the DPT is also expected to further expand the interest of global investors and technology partners to participate in developing cutting-edge waste management infrastructure in Indonesia,” Fadli said.
Registration processes and further information regarding requirements and selection stages can be accessed through the official Danantara Indonesia website.
Moving forward, Fadli assured that Danantara will continue to encourage collaboration between the government, investors, industry practitioners, and other stakeholders to accelerate implementation of sustainable waste management solutions whilst supporting national energy security.
